About

Liliana Zavala is an Argentinian-born multidisciplinary artist, vocalist, percussionist, composer and producer based in Stockholm, Sweden.

Her artistic practice moves across music, ritual performance and contemporary folk traditions, creating immersive sonic worlds where voice, rhythm and memory become inseparable. Through percussion, song and poetic texture, she explores themes of belonging, transformation and collective memory.

Alongside her work for stage and live performance, Zavala also composes music for visual narratives and interdisciplinary projects, where rhythm, atmosphere and emotional depth play a central role in storytelling.

She was nominated for the Swedish Grammys (Grammis) in the category Folk Music of the Year 2023 for her album Todos Mis Muertos. She has also been nominated at the Manifest Gala and the Swedish Folk & World Music Gala, and received the SKAP Award.

Her work challenges genre boundaries while creating spaces where ritual, spirituality and contemporary expression coexist.

Zavala’s three albums form a connected artistic trilogy exploring origins, remembrance and transformation. Cabildo reflects on community and roots; Todos Mis Muertos engages with memory, mourning and ritual; and FE, her upcoming third album scheduled for release in 2026, completes the cycle through themes of spiritual resilience and transformation.
