SOLA – Solo Performance

SOLA is a solo performance where Liliana Zavala weaves original compositions with traditional melodies and moments of live improvisation. Voice, percussion and digital elements come together through an intimate setup that allows rhythm and presence to unfold in real time.

Working with a lightweight and portable combination of analog percussion and digital tools, Zavala adapts the performance to a wide range of spaces, from concert halls to non-traditional venues. Each presentation becomes a site-specific experience, shaped by listening, risk and the exploration of new sonic possibilities.

As part of the performance, a found object — discovered at the venue or along the way — is incorporated into the music, becoming a rhythmic element that invites playfulness and reinforces the importance of attention and presence in the moment.

Rooted in the rhythms, songs, traditions and ritual practices of Latin America, SOLA distills Zavala’s extensive musical experience into a focused and personal format. The performance unfolds as an intimate journey through sound, movement and improvisation, where each encounter remains unique.
